Color Me Pooped
Oh boy. I'm tired. Puppies are like babies except they bite more. I still think he's the sweetest thing, but I'm getting nothing done around the house. I have to know where he is at all times. I have to be aware of how much he's eaten and slept throughout the day. I have to use psychic powers to figure out when he needs to go outside.
He loves me the most, so when he's in the mood to play, he jumps all around me until I sit on the floor. Then he wants to chew on whatever skin of mine he can find. That's not cool with me, but we're working on it. I'm supposed to offer an alternative, so I've been shoving chew toys in his mouth.
He loves being outside, but because he's so small, he has to leap over the blades of grass like a gazelle. And I pity the fool leaf that tries to mess with him! He gives it a good shake in his teeth to teach it a lesson for just being there.
Anyhoo, I'm writing because we're still working on a name and I wanted to throw something out at y'all. The puppy was born on Halloween and given to me on Christmas. I feel like I should be doing something with those facts, but nothing is coming to me. I thought if he were a female I would have named him "Holiday", but called him "Holly". See? I'm no good at this name game!
Got any ideas? Don't forget to vote over there ---->

At least you didn't title this entry "Color Me Poop" which would have been a whole 'nother funny puppy-owning story! ;-)
Instead of plain old Holly, since pup is a boy, how about HolliDog? Or Hollis?
For some reason, all I see when I look at this dog is Sprocket.
Hmm...Sprocket. Sounds German and he IS a dachshund.
It registered in my brain that "Color Me Pooped" could have all kinds of connotations, but I was too tired to care.
Ok, I'm going for "Remey" which is an acronym of "Meyer." (I'm not so good at this stuff either, but I like it!)
I think I recommended Roscoe. Any man who can pair poultry and breakfast pastry has got to be on to something.
You could call him "Timmy" after Mister Gunn. Or Santino after our favorite season 2 badboy.
Or Lamont after one of Taylor's fish. Is that what that damned goldfish was called?
Or Ray after the Godfather of all soul music. That'll get you some bank at the next book signing.
xox
I love this pup, he is soooooooooo cute. I had dogs named Buck and Beau and have a 19 year old cat named Boots so I had to go with Boo. Besides it easy to say (and yell) He looks so innocent now,but looks fool you.
haha, CW, Lamont! Aren't goldfish the gayist of pets? OK, maybe not gay, but not very manly.
jojosie, Beau keeps popping into my head, but I'd rather go with Boo because he was born on Halloween. (And "To Kill a Mockingbird" is one of my favorite books.)
The only connection I can make between Halloween and Christmas is that movie - The Nightmare Before Christmas. The main character's name was Jack Skellington.
Taylor's fish were named Ray and Lamont, which cracks me up because my brother-in-law's name is Ray, but my husband calls him Lamont. I have no idea why!
