The Bad Day Continues

What do you know? Yesterday someone did die. Before I went to bed last night, I checked my e-mail and found out that a friend of mine from college died yesterday. She was only 47. So I cried myself to sleep for her, her husband and daughter. And for me.

But I want to quote a musician I admire, who wrote: "Do yourself a favor and listen closely to an Otis Redding song sometime- try 'Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song).' I defy you not to feel better afterward."

I will certainly give it a try:

Barb died of cancer. I had lost touch with her, so when I got the e-mail through a mutual friend, it came out of the blue. I don't even know what kind of cancer it was.

We're having a big college reunion at a wedding at the end of this month, so all of those old friends have been on my mind lately, in a happy way. So...well, what can I say? It sucks.

The wedding's in NY and my Mom asked me if I wanted to stay an extra day or two to see Taylor on Broadway. ha. ironical. (yeah, I said "ironical" on purpose! that wasn't a senior moment)

Thanks for your kind words, both of you.

But you'll stay an extra day or two to see CW...right? ;-)

No, actually, the wedding's in upstate NY (Buffalo). I won't be able to see CW. I'm still hoping for a TH show in the northeast in the fall, so I hope CW and bluesgirl could go with me.

I pray God will bestow blessings and happier times upon you! In Christ's name I pray Amen. (hope you don't mind the prayer)

I think that was sweet, lubiana. Thank you.

I went to Starbucks yesterday while I was out running errands and I got a free mocha frap! The girl said they made one too many for the last person, so she said I could just have it.

I saw that as a good sign. lol Maybe things are turning around.

I'm really really sorry about your friend. I can relate to what her kids are going through. I lost my Mom to cancer when she was only 52. Sending prayers out to all of you.

Take care, darling. I am thinking of you. And your friend is right. Otis solves all wrongs.
